MMFF now open for submissions

MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) executive committee are pleased to announce that the submission of entry screenplays/scripts for the MMFF is still open to all interested parties until June 9.

Out of the submitted screenplay/scripts, eight will be chosen as official entries by a selection committee created for the purpose, and translated into full length movies by the respective producers, to be shown exclusively in all theaters in Metro Manila from Dec. 25, up to Jan. 7, 2012.

As in recent years, the MMFF Executive Committee is mounting the competition this early, in order to promote the selected official entries more extensively to the movie going public.

Producers and other parties, whether sole proprietorships, partnerships, joint ventures or corporations or any other organizations registered with the appropriate government regulatory agencies interested of vying for an opportunity to exhibit their films in the MMFF are advised to enlist through the MMFF Secretariat at the 2nd Floor, MMDA Building, EDSA cor. Orense St., Guadalupe, Makati City by submitting the following requirements: Notarized Application Form and fifteen copies of the script, together with a notarized affidavit that the material has never been produced nor has participated in any local or international film festival and stating that the producer agrees to abide by all the rules and regulations governing the MMFF. Proof of payment of non-refundable application/entry fee of P30,000.00 for every script.

Lastly, detailed Filmography containing the list of proposed or intended lead actors/actresses and director(s) who shall participate in the filming of the movie with an undertaking that the movie to be produced shall be based on the submitted screenplay and filmography.

The MMFF is organized primarily to help promote and enhance the preservation, growth and development of the local film industry and to extend financial support/assistance to the local movie industry through its beneficiaries representing various sectors of the movie industry.
