Theme: Paranormal. Syempre, Halloween at All Soul’s Day nyun. We want ghosts! We want aswang! We want a bit of horror and mystery! Easy on the vampires, people. There are already too much of them flying about. Iba naman.  We only have nine slots for Paranormal. Two of those filled na (oh, you’ll lovewho we got for Halloween.) Seven slots na lang to be filled. So give us your most interesting, most kakaibang story you can make. As long as wala syang foul language or obscene or disturbing scenes, hindi masyado violent, walang nudity at hindi siya sexually explicit ha.

Original works lang na ‘di pa napupublish sa print man o online ang tinatanggap namin. If you sold it as indies before, sige, we’ll consider it as long as wala siya online.

Currently, hindi kami tumatanggap ng series. One-shots lang ang hinahanap namin. In other words, kailangan matapos ang buong story sa loob ng isang issue.

FAQ

Q: May pay?
A: Yes, may pay. If we accept and publish your comic, we’ll pay you a one-time fee.

Q: How much?
A: Php 10,000 for the whole 18-22 pages.

Q: Royalties?
A: No, we pay a one-time fee.

Q: How about copyright? Who gets to keep it?
A: You do. Characters and story are still yours. But publishing rights, online and on print, to your comic for the next six months are ours.

Q: Do you accept less than 18 pages?
A: Normally, nope.

Q: I’m a comic writer. Pwede ko bang i-submit ang script ko?
A: We only accept complete comic works na. But we are not opposed to collaborative work. We suggest looking for a partner artist sa DeviantArt or among your friends. Or you can post a comment here on our blog. We’re sure there are artists out there looking for writers. Team-up. Make the comic. Then submit to us. If we publish your work, we give you payment. Then bahala na kayo kung paano ang split among the two (or more) of you.

Q: Anime-style ang art ko. Ok lang?
A: Ok lang. Our pinaka-preferred na art style talaga would be an original art style, not anime, not marvel, not the traditional Filipino comic art style. But that’s just our pinaka-preferred lang naman. We are open to ALL art styles, basta maganda tingnan.

Q: I have very beautiful art. Sigurado na akong tanggap, right?
A: Wrong. We’ve had submissions in the past na ang art is uber ganda. But we don’t know what’s going on. There is a difference between a good artist and a good comic artist. Good comic artists know how to tell a story through images.

Q: What do you look for in a comic submission?
A: Story. We’re not too particular about art styles. But we are VERY particular about story. We know most stories have been done before. But there are countless ways of presenting them again. We want stories that are buo. May point. We’re not asking for something na may lesson. But we want GREAT stories.

Q: I have a comic series. Can I submit that?
A: We’re only open to one-shots at the moment.

Q: I have a comic that I published as an indie comic sa komikon. Pwede ko ba i-submit ‘yon?
A: We’ll consider it. But we give higher priority to unpublished talaga na works.

Q: Can I submit a draft muna for you to check before I make the actual comic book?
A: A very strong YES.

Q: Kailan namin malalaman kung tanggap kami o hindi?
A: Give us until the first week of June. Kung tanggap kayo, we’ll inform you.
