TSIKENSTARR – The term ‘Chicken’ (Tsiken) was Joan Frias’ nickname by her family and friends. The ‘Star’ was her symbol and ‘RR’ was for Rock n’ Roll
The mission started during the SK or Sangguniang Kabataan times 1995 for a community project which was brought out to give free concert bands for the youth in the Rizal Area of the Philippines. And so during those times, it was indeed a very tough project to organize and conceptualize by one person, none other than Tsiken herself, carrying her own production, namely TsikenStaRR, which thereafter was established.
It was not too long until the production grew and circulated not only in Rizal but to Greater Manila area and other parts of Luzon. Its main objective is to organize and promote talented individuals in the rock scene both mainstream and underground. It also serves as a means to be able to connect fanatics to their rock band idols. It helps inspire the youth to pursue their music artistry by means of forming bands instead of hooking up to drugs and other bad vices.
Eventually, TsikenStaRR’s goal is to expand its service by means of production and collaboration with international event organizers to bring Indie Pinoy bands abroad. Its purpose is to give entertainment to Pinoy workers there and to help out bands to promote their talents as well.
However, TsikenStaRR continues its production here in the Philippines; hold events, get tie ups with other productions and RHB Muziklaban, her unstoppable help to her kababayan in Rizal and maintaining her well-established big stage ‘Rizal Rock Fest’ yearly event (underground band from municipality of Angono to Teresa Rizal, Philippines).
