... Four score and three years ago (well not really, we've been together since 4th Year HS... Jaime put this just to make it sound cool haha), a coalition sharing a unified passion for music came together. It started with two brave souls by the names of Glenn (Joshua) and Juan Francisco (Jake) in their sophomore year at Southridge, who decided to fuse their musical prowess as a means of blowing people's minds out of their faces: Joshua, with his vocal cords molded by the cherubims and seraphims themselves and Jake...just Jake. As the two musicians developed their talents, new additions were made to the band. The supreme benevolence by the name of Jaime joined the band blessing them with the background bass-ish rhythm of the bass guitar, the Brazilian wonder Tags with his sick beats straight from the fires of the microwave itself, and Ling-ling with his amazing fingers devised especially for excellence in guitar playing. The coalition was finally complete by the name of Lady Ransom.
The name Lady Ransom comes from the religious order of Our Lady of Ransom which is the redemption of Christian Captives. Likewise, the band intends to rescue their listeners from their problems and take them to a place of peace. The band, based in the south of the Metro, combines a mellow and ambient tune inspired by the occurrences in nature, together with the ground shaking, cake-making, and heart breaking sound of progressive rock. Despite some failure in the past, it has only made the band grow even more and strive to be better. Regardless of those humbling experiences, they still have not succumbed to defeat and they still continue to venture on to pursue their passion for music.
