    Inspired by the Chilean Nobel Prize winner, the band – NERUDA was formed in 2003. The original line includes Nathan Peralta on vocals, Gagal Bravo, Karl Vito Cruz ..boards, Mark Centeno on guitars and Mike Coronel on bass integrated their varied influences and created music they referred to as EXPERIMENTAL ROCK. When Mike Coronel left in 2004, JL Siscar of the band Lysosome, joined NERUDA. The following year, when Mark Centeno left the band, auditions were held in searched of a new guitarist in which Robert Lachica from the band Skinless Dawgy and Fuseboxx, was selected. Robert started playing with NERUDA in April of 2005. With this line up, NERUDA recorded their first single REIGN and was heard over NU107. Their first demo EP was released and sold at their gigs in 2005. The song REIGN was included in various compilation album in 2006.

    In 2007, NERUDA recorded their full length debut album under Kerplunk’s Pop-No-Comply Records produced by Patrick Jalbuena. The song TAKE A SEAT, FEEL THE KICK featured URBANDUB’s frontman Gaby Alipe and co-producer of the album.

    In March 2007, NERUDA: INSIGNIAS AND ENIGMAS was released. On the first two (2) weeks of it’s independent release, the band has sold 200 copies of their album.

     The band played at countless events with mainstream acts like Bamboo, Parokya ni Edgar, Hale, Kamikazee, Slapshock, Quezo, Greyhoundz, 6CycleMind, Sponge Cola and equally talented underground artists in various venues at bars and schools in the metro and provinces.

    NERUDA has appeared in several TV Shows in STUDIO 23’s Breakfast Supersize, MTV channels’ shows like MTV ROCKOLA and MTV SIESTA and appeared on ABS-CBN’s Music channel, MYX in a few occasions. Their songs REIGN and TAKE A SEAT, FEEL THE KICK has gained nationwide airplay at NU107, 99.5 HIT FM and 105.9 RJ UNDERGROUND RADIO.

    With NERUDA’s passion with music and talents, the band has earned the respect of their fellow musicians both from the mainstream and underground scene. They gained quite a number of loyal following and friends who regularly communicates with them on their mailing list who also frequent and sing their songs at their gigs. To date, NERUDA was able to sell all the initial 500 copies of INSIGNIAS AND ENIGMAS at their gigs alone in three (3) months from the time of it’s release.

    In July 2008, when Robert and Gagal left the band, NERUDA auditioned new members to play the drums and guitars for the band. Current line up includes original members Nathan Peralta , Karl Vito Cruz and JL Siscar. Several times Best Drummer Competitions winner Xley Miguel who is also from the band Do ‘Ahou is NERUDA’s new drummer. To complete the line up of this promising young band, is guitarist Jai Hanopol from the band Sylveria. He comes from a family of musicians-- son to a jazz singer and pianist, nephew to Mike Hanopol and cousin to Lourd de Veyra, but distance has become a problem with gig skeds since he lives in lipa, batangas, and was soon replaced by Guitar Instructor Mike Abrigo of G4, a band that plays instrumental music

    Currently, NERUDA is recording their 2nd album and shooting a new music video planned to be released by early 2009
