It was summer of 2001, when brothers Clint and Allan decided to introduced their own music act and formed the now known Ska Band performing onstage in different music bars and music clubs around the metropolis, thus the band "Mobster Manila" was born.
Since then, the group has performed in different bars and cafes such as the Freedom Bar , Big Sky Mind, Klub 102, Millenia, Klub Fluid, Heckle and Jeckel, Mayrics, Lolo Kiko's Bar, Calyente Bar, Club Indios, Riverbooze, Purple Haze, Gweilos, Dish, Pop-up bar, 6 Underground, Daungan grille, Column bar, Zen, Magnet bar, Top Venue, Club Mafia, Jam 218, Club V and Coco Aroma (puerto galera), among others.The Band also performed live in major concerts such as the Concert for Peace, the Oktoberfest, Urge Tour and was also part of events such as; Mountain bike finals in Eastwood, University of the Phils. Event in Xaymaca bar. Also, the band took part in campus tours like Claret School (Load 'em Up concert), Paco Catholic School (Rock Fever), Siena College, NCBA School (Foundation Day). the band was featured in Pinoy Central, Urge Magazine and other leading local newspapers. The band was part of an independent compilation album called 8Track Album which is currently being sold in all Tower Records stores nationwide.
Their act was inspired by their deeply rooted passion for music, incorporating their talents and innovating their music by combining the highly danceable ska and rocksteady beat with punk's energy and attitude, -creating their very own - "MOB MUSIC". They're heavily influenced by the two-tone era of the 80's and bands such as; The Specials, The English Beat, Madness, The Clash, The Selecters,The Untouchables,Social Distortion, Stray Cats,The Cure... and their favorite acts includes Elvis Presley, Tony Benett and Frank Sinatra.
