Manie Magbanua, Jr.

Profile:

    Licensed Electronics and Communications Engineer. Worked as audioman and editor for ABS-CBN Foundation from 2000 to 2006. He edited and sound designed Jon Red’s “ASTIGmatism” which won Silver DV Award at the Hongkong International Film Festival in 2004 and a selection at the Torino Film Festival in Italy in 2005. He has also edited and line-produced more than 20 music videos for artist such as R & B Princess Kyla, Francis Magalona, The Mongols, Gloc 9, Seven Shots of Wisdom, Juana, Kiko Machine, Join The Club, Hale, Shamrock and Parokya ni Edgar among others.

    Co-founder and Managing Director of Filipino Pictures, Inc. He edited Sponge Cola’s first music video “KLSP” directed by Francis Magalona which won Best Rock Video on the first MYX Music Awards in 2005. He directed Antique’s first music video for its provincial and tourism theme song, “Antique Banwa nga Hamili” and “Kruuhaayy! Katahum kang Antique” in 2006. He was the technical director for TV/Cable TV shows such as Knowledge Channel’s peace show “Salam (Season 2)”, Technical Director / Director of photography for "Kidnap" - ABS-CBN documentary and currebtly "Storyline" - ANC weekly documentary show.

    Took Cinematography workshop at UP Film Institute, Diliman in October 2007 under world class cinematographer Nap Jamir. His first full length Cinematograpy work was completed in 2008 for Paolo Villaluna and Ellen Ramos' "Walang Hanggang Paalam"
