Indie Un-Film is a digital video competition open to all enrolled college students in the metro.

Indie Un-Film, launched in 2003, is a groundbreaking event in the University that aims to open the public's eye to the wonders of video-making. It also hopes to serve as an avenue for promising student filmmakers to express themselves and let their works be shown to a wider audience.

Open to all students of the current school year from all universities within the region, Indie Un-Film is divided into three categories: feature (experimental or animation), documentary and Music Video.

To qualify, entries should not exceed the required time duration of 5 to 20 minutes. Videos that have been previously awarded in the IUF, been broadcast on television, were made by professional filmmakers or that contain pornographic elements will automatically be disqualified.

  1. The contest is open to legitimate students of school year 2010-2011 from all colleges and universities in the Philippines.  Joining fee is P150 and is non-refundable.
  2. Applicants may submit a COPY of their video in any of the following categories:
    • Feature (animation or experimental)
    • Documentary
    • Music Video
    • Experimental Video           
  3. All videos must not exceed 20 minutes (including opening and closing credits). Videos exceeding 20 minutes will be disqualified.
  4. All entries MUST have a 30-second trailer on a separate DVD.
  5. Videos that run over-time, have been previously awarded or broadcast on television, were made by professionals, or contain pornographic elements WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
  6. Music videos must have the original song from the artist or must have the consent of the artist for making the music video.
  7. Videos must be submitted both in MINI DV and DVD FORMAT. Other formats like V8 WILL NOT be accepted.
  8. Entries must be made within the last two years only (2009 and 2010). Videos made before December 31, 2009 will not be accepted.
  9. Interested applicant may visit HTTP://WWW.INDIEUNFILM.TK to download an application form. One application form per video. The application form must be filled out legibly and submitted on or before 12:00NN of February 26, 2010.

    Applicants must submit the following on a brown envelope:
           a. Application form
                      i. Application form
                      ii. Photocopy of current semester’s registration form
                      iii. Photocopy of ID
                      iv. Joining Fee – Php150.00
            b. Copy of the video/film in DVD and MiniDV
                      i. Title, category and applicant on the cover
                      ii. Indicate the running time on the cover
            c. 30 sec Trailer on DVD
           
    d. Data CD:
                      i.  Synopsis/Video Summary
                       ii. Cast and Crew
                       iii. Soft Copy of Poster in 11x17in. JPG portrait format
  10. All applicants should email indieunfilm@gmail.com to confirm that your entry has been submitted.
  11. In the event that only 1 video entry will qualify in a category, the participant will only receive half of the cash prize.
  12. All entries will be screened and only the top 5 videos for Feature and Documentary category, and the top 3 videos for Music Video and Experimental will qualify and be showed in the cinema.
  13. All entries will be used for this event/competition only.
  14. Decisions of judges are final with respect to all matters relating to this IUF 2011 Contest.

SUBMISSION PERIOD OF ENTRIES IS FROM DECEMBER 1, 2010 TO FEBRUARY 26, 2011. Entries should be submitted to their university’s partner organization/department or directly at Room 403, SPS Building, De La Salle University, Manila. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Applicants may submit more than one video. Only 5 videos will be nominated for each category. Nominees will be notified on MARCH 4, 2011 through text and email and are required to be present during the viewing and awarding session on MARCH 19, 2011.

It is also a requirement to sell at least twenty (20) IUF 2010 tickets. The 20 tickets are already considered sold and non-refundable.
